Michael Crabtree - WR - 49ers The Santa Rosa Press Democrat confirms that Michael Crabtree is only "day to day" with a neck strain.
Though he's likely to miss the 49ers' exhibition opener, Crabtree should be back on the practice field shortly. He'll be 100 percent well before Week 1. August 12 - 4:17 p.m. ET

New offensive coordinator Mike Johnson should put an emphasis on getting Crabtree open, but until he proves he can do that the "diva" is best used on fantasy benches.

Michael Crabtree - WR - 49ers New 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Johnson plans to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers by spreading out and giving defenses more looks with multiple packages.
Jimmy Raye wanted the ball in the hands of his playmakers too, but he ran a more conservative attack. "One of the basic philosophies I believe in is I think you have to make a defense defend the entire field," said Johnson. "You can't let a defense squeeze you between the numbers." It's not a bad idea to buy low on Michael Crabtree this week after an awful start under Raye. September 30 - 4:50 p.m. ET
